Description

The Macromatic CAP10AD62 is an overcurrent sensing relay. This 11 pin plug in relay has an input voltage of 120V. It monitors both AC and DC current with an output of 10A SPDT. It has three knobs on top to adjust the current range (threshold), startup time delay, and drop-out setting (hysteresis). Current range is selectable by connecting the corresponding terminal and the COM terminal (see Wiring Diagram). The CAP10AD62 uses an 11 pin 70170-D octal socket. Can be compatible with the Crouzet LIRT and DIRT series. Note: Image is an approximation. Actual part may differ.

The CAP10AD62 has latching and non-latching modes of operation.

Latching- If a normally closed contact is connected to pins 9 & 11, the relay will be in latching mode. Once the input voltage is introduced, the LED turns green and the start-up sensing time delay is finished the relay starts monitoring. The time delay is adjustable between 0.1-10 seconds. The unit energizes when the current rises above the pick-up setting, which is adjustable. The LED then turns red. When the current drops below the adjustable drop-out setting (5-50% of the pick-up) and the normally closed contact opens, the relay de-energizes. The LED goes back to green. The drop-out setting should be at 5% in latching mode.

Non-Latching- If there is no circuit with pins 9 & 11, the relay is in non-latching mode. Once the input voltage is introduced, the LED turns green and the start-up sensing time delay is finished the relay starts monitoring. The unit energizes when the current rises above the pick-up setting and the LED is red. When the current drops below the drop-out setting, the relay de-energizes and the LED is green again.
