The straight Strain Relief fittings have a molded O-Ring groove, while the Snap Elbows and some of the Conduit Fittings do not have recess for an O-Ring. In these instances, a Seal Ring is the ideal choice, unless a recess can be beveled to accommodate an O-Ring. Seal Rings should be used when mounting these fittings to a control panel, then secured with a locking nut, when NEMA 4x or 6 (European IP 68 - submersible) is necessary.
