The full line of Mencom M12 hardwired connectors, also referred to as field wireable plugs, is available through Major Electronix. These Micro DC, or MDC series, connectors are categorized by their M12 coupling nut and mating thread. They feature a single keyway and are made for applications involving sensors and actuators. Micro DC connectors have plug and play capability, but don’t let that name confuse you. Micro DC does not mean they are only for DC applications. They have 4, 5, or 8 pole pin counts, in male or female, straight or right-angle configurations. The MDC series features a strain relief cable entry on the other end, in PG 7, PG 9, or PG 11 sizes. PG 7 fits 3-6.5mm diameter cable, PG 9 accepts 4-8mm cable, and PG 11 is made for 5-10mm cable. They provide a water tight fit once connected, carrying an IP 67 rating. IP 67 indicates a total protection from dust and temporary immersion in water (up to 1 meter for up to 30 minutes). Most have plastic housings made from polyamide, while a few are nickel-plated brass. All Mencom MDC M12 field wireable connectors have gold plated copper alloy contacts.
