Safety shutter: Covers over contacts before plug is removed to prevent contact with active components. Shutter is opened when the compatible plug is inserted
Spring loaded contacts: Ensures that the connection has the correct amount of contact pressure. Balances out variations in construction and stands up to wear and tear
Quick break mechanism: Disconnect by pushing the button, which breaks the circuit and detaches the plug.
