The Macromatic SFPAD7B250 is a pump seal failure relay. This 11 Pin plug-in relay has an input voltage of 24V AC/DC. This single channel relay is made to monitor for leaks in submersible pump seals and has an output of 7A DPDT. The sensitivity is adjustable and can be preset to meet the resistance level needed. The single channel feature means that the relay detects leaks for a single pump. The SFPAD7B250 features an LED that is red when the unit energizes and senses a leak. It stays green if there is no leak once the input voltage is introduced. It uses an 11 pin 70170-D octal socket.

The resistance is measured by a probe that is inserted in the pump seal cavity. In the event of a leak, resistance between the probe and the connection is lowered by contaminating fluid that goes into the seal cavity. The relay energizes when the resistance goes below the preset sensitivity point.
