The Macromatic SFP120B250 is a pump seal failure relay. This 11 Pin plug-in relay has an input voltage of 120V. It is a single channel relay intended for sensing leaks in submersible pump seals and has an output of 7A DPDT. The sensitivity is adjustable from 1K to 250K Ohms using the low profile adjustment knob. Single channel indicates that the relay detects leaks for one pump only. The SFP120B250 has an LED that glows red when the unit senses a leak. If there is no leak, it stays green. It uses an 11 pin 70170-D octal socket.

The resistance is measured by a probe inserted in the pump seal cavity. In case of a leak, resistance between the probe and the connection is lowered, caused by contaminating fluid going into the seal cavity. The relay energizes when the resistance drops below the preset sensitivity point.
