The Macromatic PMPU-FA8X is a three phase monitor relay. This 8 Pin plug-in relay has a line-line voltage of 190-500V. It monitors against 5 different types of phase errors and has an output of 5A SPDT/SPNO. The LED indicator changes sequence depending on the type of error found, shown by the diagram on top of the unit. The PMPU-FA8X uses an 8 Pin 70169-D octal socket. A socket that is rated for 600V should always be used if the system voltage is above 300V.
Monitors For:
- Phase Loss
- Phase Reversal
- Phase Unbalance
- Undervoltage
- Overvoltage

This relay uses microprocessor based design along with true RMS measurement to monitor for phase loss, phase reversal, phase unbalance, undervoltage, and overvoltage. True RMS measurement offers more precise monitoring. The universal voltage range makes it useful in a number of applications. This unit can also still function even if a phase is lost, while indicating a fault and monitoring voltage. When the voltage and phase sequence is right, the relay becomes energized. If a fault is detected, the relay is de-energized. It restarts automatically once the problem is fixed. The undervoltage setting, overvoltage setting, trip delay, restart delay, and unbalanced setting are all fixed. The adjustment knob has two ranges for a 190-250V range & a 380-500V range. The PMPU-FA8X will detect the voltage when introduced and choose the correct range. The extra SPNO contact offers an isolated output for alarm circuits.
