The Macromatic CAH05A2BJ is a current sensing relay. This encapsulated relay has an input voltage of 120V. It monitors for either over or undercurrent conditions and has an output of 10A SPDT. It is designed for AC current, and has an adjustable range of 0.5-5A with a trip time delay of 0.5-50 seconds. There is a 6 second time delay on startup. The integrated current transformer offers better access and sensitivity, as the wire can be looped more than once. The encapsulated housing makes it perfect for use under more demanding conditions.

The user can choose whether the relay checks for over or under current faults with the selector switch. The relay starts monitoring for possible faults once the input voltage is introduced. In an overcurrent situation, the AC current goes over the set Fault Trip Current for longer than the adjusted time delay. The relay energizes after the time delay and stays energized until the current drops below the reset level. For an undercurrent condition, the current goes under the set Fault Trip Current for longer than the time delay. Again, the relay energizes after the time delay and de-energizes once the current rises above the reset level. The CAH05A2BJ features an LED which glows red to indicate when an error is found. Has pilot duty rating. Examples of common applications include process control, monitoring for locked rotor or load loss, or open heater or lamp.
