HSTB3/16 shrink tubing is used primarily to protect wires by acting as insulation. Other uses include keeping dirt and debris away from splices and inline components. This heat shrink tubing can also be used as a light duty harness for wire or cable if cable ties are not readily available. It can also be useful when wires need to be color coded for quick identification.
When heat is applied to the tubing, it shrinks down to about half of its original diameter. This will encase the wire or connection with an effective safeguard against foreign contamination. After heating, it has a nominal recovered wall thickness of 0.02". Coming in quantities of 250ft, there is plenty of length to cut the tubing to the size you need.
