The DuraChoice TW6H40 heavy duty stainless steel 316 thermowell has a 4" stem length with 1/2" NPT female thread and 1/2" NPT male thread. Solid construction. Thermowells are designed to protect thermometers and similar instruments from corrosive substances. The thermometer stem sits inside the thermowell, which can transfer the level of heat from the object. Using a thermowell also lets the thermometer be removed if needed, without potentially damaging the tested object. Note: Stem length includes thread length.
