The Macromatic ARP012A5R is an alternating relay. This 8 Pin plug-in relay has a control voltage of 12V AC. It is a 10A DPDT cross wired duplexor relay used in situations where the run time of two loads needs to be equalized and when added load capacity is needed. It uses an 8 pin 70169-D octal socket.

The ARP012A5R features 2 LEDs that indicate which load energizes first. The unit also has a low profile selector switch to lock into one load, so the same load runs first. This can help to even out load usage if one ends up being favored more than the other. A control switch starts the alternating action. The output contacts on the relay change state when the initiating switch opens, so the loads alternate.
